Making Time For Tea

Teatime is an important part of my day. In the morning before work, it's a quick mug of Earl Grey to get me started, and a teabag will do the trick. In the evening, I take a little more time, and often use my Harney and Sons loose leaf tea. On weekends, I often treat myself to loose leaf Earl Grey with lavender brewed in one of my many teapots. Years ago, I enjoyed my tea this way every day. It was a quiet moment in my day, usually while my children were napping, or at school. I would choose a teapot and a teacup from my collection and a book to enjoy with my tea. I miss those moments and wish I had more time to slow down and enjoy the ritual of teatime.

I'm sharing a picture of two of my favorite teapots below. I especially like the verse on the small one. It reads You will fill me with joy in Your presence. Psalm 16:11 NIV.

I'm linking this post to Dotty Hop Day at Cutie Pie Cottage and Rednesday at It's a Very Cherry World.

What special moments in your busy day bring you peace?

Those are cute teapots! I can't pick which I like best! I love checks, but the polkadots are so cute!
I like loose tea, too. Since I started using loose tea, I can't use a tea bag anymore! I can take the bag and the tea doesn't taste clear!

Happy Rednesday!

Oh girl, you really know how to get me excited! Two of my favorites. Red, and Dots! I have a red with white dotted tea pot which I love. These are so cute together. What a cheery way to start your day! I've just GOT to follow you!

I don't drink tea, but there sure is a lovely ritual to tea. Teapots have such a delightful shape, like a comfortable grandmother in an apron. My morning ritual is an ice cold Diet Coke in a hot bubble bath. Not much ceremony...but plenty of satisfaction! Love the polkadot teapot. When my daughter gets married (if) we will use an Alice and Tea Party theme. I can't wait!

Love the tea pots! Are you English? I had the pleasure of having an English neighbor when I was a young married Mommy. She taught me all about tea and tea time. She would "ring me up" to come over after the babies had their naps, and we would have a nice chat over tea. She usually brewed loose leaf Earl Grey with Typhoo. One teaspoon for each one drinking and one for the pot. Always with milk. Oh those were good times!!!

I drink ice tea, so I have no pretty tea pots like yours. If I drank hot tea, I would like some of these.

Hi Kris,

I'm not English, but wish I had an English neighbor to share tea with! My mom was a tea drinker, and years ago, I read several books on tea and tea parties, and started collecting teapots, teacups and all the accoutrements. Nothing calms me and invigorates me at the same time like tea! My daughter and I can find any excuse for a tea party!

I'm afraid if I had either of those teapots, I'd be brewing tea all day long just so I could get my hands on those cute little numbers!

A LOVER OF SCARLET

A lover of scarlet just may,
When given the floor, have her say
About the bright shade
That lights up the glade
Like fire on a hot summer’s day!

I love sitting on weekday mornings with my breakfast and a pot of strong, strong English Breakfast tea--these days, Tetley's British Breakfast Blend in a pot I bought at Liberty in London. It's definitely one of my favorite times of the day!

How cute! I love using my teapots. My DIL and my grandaughter have "special time". Tea and cookies are often included. What a beautiful memory that will be someday. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I've been caring for my Mom lately and lacking the time to blog, but I will be getting back on track soon hopefully. Hugs, Jean

Oh, I love tea time too, and your red tea pot with the saying is so cute!! I use Twinnings sometimes too, but my favorite is English Breakfast. Me and the girls have been taking time out to have a cup of tea. It can be very soothing after a hectic day. We even did a tea post at one time. I just love your post today. It really reminded me of my kitchen, which I have decorated in red. I'm so glad I found someone who loves polka dots as I do.

Love the red dots and now that the weather is cooler I think some blackberry tea or some kind of spice tea would feel good in my tummy. I am an ice tea drinker for sure but for some reason instead of having a nice cup of tea in the morning I share a cup of coffee with my husband. I might change mine to tea somethime.
